That is so sad, that the school did not even care about the history that was local, let alone the State and National History involved. I think that needs to be addressed and a marker placed there. I do not know why they did that, or why those soldiers were not moved to the National Cemeteries where they belonged. It does not matter if they died during the War of after. I am a part of the Robert G Shaver Camp in Jonesboro. And they want to label us Neo Confederates and Racist extremists. and we seem to be the only ones wanting to recognize the history, service, and sacrifice of our ancestor's enemy. I am a combat veteran and I cannot stand for fellow veterans to be forgotten.
