3rd Infantry Battalion

No doubt this has been covered in the past, but a good-faith forum search didn't reveal it.

July 1861, Dandridge McRae's Battalion aka 3rd Arkansas Infantry Battalion.

Researching the Johnson County company (Capt. Batson Cox). I find the regiment leaving Clarksville and arriving at Fayetteville on 7 Jul 1861.

List of men, check.
Type and value of horses, check.
How this company disbanded by Oct 1861........unchecked.

Members of the company were enlisting in other commands by Oct-Nov 1861. I assume they fought at Wilson's Creek/Oak Hills, and are not the 3rd Battalion State Troops, commanded by David Provence who so conspicuously acquitted themselves.

But I am unfamiliar with the unit, and know that this company did not became part of the evolved 21st (McRae's) Infantry Regiment.

Can someone spin me around three times and send me stumbling toward some records/info on this unit from Jul-Oct 1861?
