So Danny what we see here is a 3.5 to 1 overall ration of .69 caliber muskets to .58 caliber enfields. Since these stats are for 3 years '62 to '64 how many of the enfields were aquired in 1864?

Something else is the absence of .58 caliber Springfield types as if none were ever in the Trans-Mississippi Dept. Does that seem logical? In some of the "unofficial" stories of Col Carter's Lancers it was said that he aquired about 60 1862 Richmonds or 1855 or '61 Springfields while he was there in July 1862 upon the 21st, 24th, and 25th Texas Cavalry were being dismounted. As we know the 21st Tex. Cav. avoided that fate.
