Reid's Battery disbanded after Prairie Grove

Outstanding! Thanks so much. This at least clears up what happened to the unit after Prairie Grove. I still find John G. Reid's virtualy disappearance after this point interesting.

Dec 24, 1862
Col: General [Thomas C.] Hindman has directed Capt [John G.] reid to report to you at Fort Smith [Arkansas], tomorrow morning with his battery. You will then immediately take charge of the guns and equipments, horses, &c. turn over to Frosts and Fagan's Division whatever part thereof they may need on requisitions, approved by the proper divisions commanding, - turn over the remainder, if any, to the chief of ordnance or Post Quarter Master according to the nature of the article: relieve officers of duty and conduct the men to the camp of Gen Roane to be incorporated with his Texas Infantry, either as a company or returned to their original companies as he may deem best Frost's and Fagans Divisions having received marching orders, it is necessary that all this be done tomorrow.
