What's the info on Captain A.J. Gingles or (Jingles) of the 5th Arkansas Inf (Austin Rifles). He was out of the 5th shortly after the battle of Shiloh, (if memory is right). He was living near Camp Nelson, Arkansas during the death epidemic of 1862. Many of the Texas troops knew him personally by way of them all living in South Carolina before the war. They had contact with him during the fall of 1862 by way of Camp Nelson. 1st Lieut Duncan A. McCallum of co"H" 19 Texas Inf died at his house Nov. 11, 1862 of mercury poisoning/disease.
