In his CMSR he is several times shown as Lt. Col., Commanding, 13th Alabama.
He tendered his resignation as Lt. Col. due to health issues on 2 Jan. 1863.
He signed a parole of honor in Montgomery on 1 Jun. 1865, as Col. 13th Regiment, Ala. Vol.
