Thank you, Sir, for making my week. Merely to have a person of your position read, much less comment on, my scribbles is incredible. In defense of my feeble-mindiness, allow me to note that when I started the thread looking for a murdering, rouge Alabama Colonel, I was thinking it was going to be later in the war than it turned out. While my Colonel consistently said he was in Pensacola at or near the start of the war, I had already learned to discount much of what he said. Thus, my heading was, indeed, poorly chosen. I should have merely noted "Alabama soldiers," rather than "Alabama regiments." I greatly appreciate you and all the others who pointed out the error of my ways. I stand properly chastised. Thanks for keeping me on my toes.

Come to think of it, it's been decades since I last read Brewer. Perhaps 'tis time to brush up on the classics.
