The Florida pension application gives enlistment date as April 1st, 1865, not 1864. This makes sense as rolls of the 1st and 2nd Class Militia for Henry County were written in the fall of 1864.

Evidently Governor Watts authorized formation of short-term militia regiments in the emergency of late March 1865. I've seen no actual documentation. Evidently these men never left Henry County and mustered out of service upon hearing of the capture of Mobile and Montgomery. The discharge date in the pension is April 18, 1865.
