I should think that this would be a monumental undertaking, like looking for the proverbial needle in a hay stack.

I note in the Adjutant and Inspector General Files, there is a section entitled Register of Appointments. In that arena are a number of volumes in ch. 1, namely,

Vol. 93. Field and regimental appointments of State and Confederate States organizations, Jan. 1864-Mar. 1865.

I suspect this document would only be found at the National Archives and would be a good place to start.
