Hayes Lowe26th Ala. Inf., Co. I = 3rd Ala. Batt., Co. A???Fri Sep 29 18:27:27 2000 The webpage of the 26th (O'Neil's) Ala. Inf. states that Co. I of that regiment was formerly Co. A of the 3rd Ala. Battalion. Is this true? I have a hard time reconciling this with other information that I have seen regarding the formation of the 26th and the dissolving of the 3rd Batt. The time frames do not match (off by a couple of years!)
