In fact, the page states that all 10 companies were from the 3rd Ala. Batt. Here is one statement from the page:

"[The 26th Alabama Infantry was] Formally accepted into the Confederate Army in Tuscumbia, Alabama in December of 1861, it used the 10 Company 3rd Alabama Battalion as a nucleus. "

Now, from what I understand, the only 3rd Alabama Battalion was Hilliard's Legion. [There was a 3rd Alabama Reserves Battalion formed in 1864.] Hilliard's Legion was not disbanded until 1863.

Is there some other 3rd Alabama Battalion? If not, what is the explanation of this?
