T. Craig Jones18th Ala. InfantryThu Sep 7 14:35:32 2000 Recently, I learned that my great, great, great grandfather, Jacob Henry Young, was a private in Co. B, 18th Alabama Infantry ("Covington Hunters"), and was killed early in the war (probably early 1862). He enlisted at Andalusia AL, on July 26, 1861, with Capt. James T. Brady. I'm waiting on a response to my Form 80; in the meantime, I am wondering whether anyone knows what might have happened to him, and where (i.e., what battle) he was killed, or if he actually died of disease. There are a few web sites relating to the 18th, but their information about particular soldiers is limited. Thanks, and best wishes.Covington Co, Ala events Sandra Taylor, Sat Nov 18 18:19 18th Alabama Bob Hurst, Fri Sep 8 00:15 18th Ala. Infantry T.
