Last week I found my ancestor (after years of searching) in the National Archives collection. I could not find anything yet on the Unit and its composition. He was 46 and the unit does not clearly have regular function and in fact was mustered at least twice, once for "two months." No pay was received, although my ancestor was in hospitals in Mobile, Montgomery and Selma for dysentery. It mustered in Gainsville and Selma.

Any info on this unit, or the 2nd Reserves if it existed (it appeared as the unit on one form) recieved with curiosity and thanks.
