Good work!

Evidently, I must have had this backwards...with it first being called Talledega City Guards, then Selma City Guards later. [I wonder why I thought that? I'll have to go back throught the 1907 Census and see if I find an indication fo why.] Perhaps Alabama City Guards was an interim designation, inbetween organization at Talledega and assignment to Provost Guard duty at Selma. And probably all designations except the "Selma City Guards" were not official titles for the unit, but were "working" titles that the members used to designate their unit.

Very interesting that they were armed with flintlocks. Any indication of calibre? My guess is that they were unconverted (to percussion) "Mississippi" rifles. Good guns!
