Wright's Brigade

Mike,

Best regards, but that is not the information gathered on this end. The 44th actually guarded a road in a trench on the outskirts of Richmond with the three Georgia regiments assigned to the brigade. I used to be able to call the name of the road, but would have to look and make sure. It was one of the main approaches to the city on that eastern side and is easily found in the records. They are listed in the opposing forces for that campaign that was derived from the Official Records. They were assigned to Huger's "Wing" in Anderson's Division. It seems like they were not involved directly with their division at Malvern Hill for a variety of reasons. It seems like they stayed put. Huger was definitely absent from the preceding affairs. He went the wrong way (Or Holmes did. They were both gotten rid of. One was made the inspector general of artillery, but I don't remember which one.) and was soon removed by Lee and that part of his command was given to Longstreet.
