I cant remember where I got the info on Patterson but it may have been the History of Morgan Co. However early on Patterson was a Capt under Warren in the 4th. Now if the 4th was in Union Springs in late Oct and the 5th was mustered in at Cherokee in Sept of 1862, it would seem likely that Union Springs may have been a base camp and enlistments could have taken place here! Just guessing and not writing history. Now I was only able to get the original muster rolls for 4 companies and I believe only one company enlisted at Union Springs? Can you elaborate on that. The copies I got were not real good and the travel milage differed on individuals!
