On April 1, the regiment was fighting at Five Forks, Petersburg. The regiment surrendered at Appomattox Courthouse in Virginia on April 9, 1865, under the command of Col. Martin L. Stansel of Pickens County." Doesn't this indicate that the 41st was in the ANV at the time of surrender?
