40th's flags

Dave,

Moore's Brigade all received flags while at thh parole camps in Demopolis in October, 1863. These were most likely Hardee pattern battle flags, and one of them was lost in battle on Lookout Moutain as the brigade moved up to support Walthall's Mississippi Brigade. The flag is cited in a Federal capture report in the OR's as being similar in style to those lost by Walthall's troops - all four of which were Hardee flags!
