Henry SealeFlags of Moore's Brigade (Hardee Patern?)Mon Jan 22 18:55:08 2001 Gregg, What is your source of information as to the issuing of new flags to regiments of Moore's Brigade while at Demopolis? I have not as yet discovered any mention of this. I have seen detailed accounts of the "condemed" arms and acoutrements that they were issued and improper ammunition, but no mention at all about flags. Also, all illustrations of Hardee Patern Battle Flags that I have seen have the regiment number and state in the white center circle, such as "38TH Ala." What regiment was this Hardee patern flag that the Yanks captured from? It would be truly bizare for them to have an unmarked flag of Hardee pattern. I guess it is possible. Do you know of any examples of this unmarked Hardee pattern flag? What is the volume and page number in the O.R. that you are refering to? I would like to look this up.Thanks, Henry flags of Moore's Brigade Greg Biggs, Mon Jan 22 23:48 And that makes *four* 40th flags!
