I have a copy of an old letter from an ancestor. In this letter he mentions "Demopolis AL" and is dated "Aug. 27th, 1864." The letter I have mentions a Capt.'s name but I'm not sure what it is. The name could be Capt. Patmee, or Capt. Palmer. Maybe if I can find what unit was in Demopolis in Aug. of 1864, I could find a muster roll listing the names of the soldiers.
