If you take a look at a hard copy of the War of the Rebellion Atlas (which accompanies the Official Records) or is available online at http://digitalcollections.baylor.edu/cdm/landingpage/collection/tx-wotr and also The Confederate Railroad and Prolonging of the Inevitable at http://www.militaryhistoryonline.com/civilwar/articles/confederaterailroad.aspx, and trace it backwards from GA to VA, I think it will kind of give you an idea of the railroads probably taken by Dr. Holloway. You may also want to put a post on the GA, SC and NC boards, too, since through those states was probably the route taken.
