While doing research I have found that that one of my ancestors is listed as serving in the 48th Virginia Infantry. He was captured on July 8th 1864 at Hapers Ferry. I have searched long and hard and I am unable to find any info on any battle or skirmish that the 48th was in on that date. I know that a few days later the battle Monocacy happened near Harpers Ferry but I cant find anything else. If anyone has any info please let me know. Thanks, Jason
