.. Will do, it has been a number of years so might take some digging to retrace.
I was researching the footsteps of Hagoods Brigade. At the Aug 21st fight at Weldon RR.
I was systematicly going through all the opposing Federal unit reports of the engagement.
Many of the Federal units were short timers and soon thereafter were mustered out, so had
more time to write of their last major fight. I also had noted that there was a fair amount
of surviving confederate artifacts existing from Hagoods Brigade of that engagement. Identified and/or unit marked Kepi's, canteens, knapsacks etc. Assuming the federals scarfed up items to
take back home as momentos etc. IF memory is correct I noted the hardee flag reference amongst these reports as having been taken by one of the regiments, but the time frame or exact location of when taken may have been passively referenced in general. So will need to reestablish the confirmation before I toss that out on a limb just yet.
