Last week I visited Alexandria public Library's Barrett Branch which has a pretty good collection of Civil War books. I found a book I'd never heard of before, Sketches and Reminiscences of the Civil War . . . by James H. Hodam.

He served in Co. C, 17th Va. Cavalry.
