Bailey BARTON, pvt. Co. D. He was a part of the 150 conscripts brought from Tyler by Ashbel Smith in late 1862.

He was furloughed/paroled after the fall of Vicksburg. He remained on the rolls as having been ordered back to the regiment during the reassembly in Houston. He final showed up on July 4th, 1864 (I have no doubt he brought in another crop before departure!!), and is listed as "joined from depot." Of course, in two more months he was listed as a deserter as things continued to break down in the Houston/Galveston sector.
