In Response To: Col J.W. Speight's Brigade ()

Ken, I have some more whereabouts concerning Col. Speight's Brigade on April 30, 1863. I came across a receipt for payment to Patrick Gorham for services rendered during a crossing of the Kiamishi (sp) River, C.N. (Cherokee Nation) on that day. The receipt shows that there were 18 wagons & ambulances and about 500 men. It was signed by Capt. W.L. Murphy, Asst. Quartermaster in Doaksville, C.N. (now Oklahoma). The crossing cost $25.00.

If you'd like a copy of the image, send me an email at my address and I'll forward it to you. I found this on Fold3.com.
