Very interesting and consistent with the July 1863 letter I have from my GG grandfather. His name was L.E. Taylor and he asks his wife a number of things including if she got a horse he sent her. I guess that was when they were dismounted. He specifically states “there is a great deal of dissatisfaction in the camp”. I have no idea what happened to him after that letter other than he was killed according to my long deceased grandmother.
