Steve, George A. Thomason was a private in Co A of Ochiltree's 18th Texas Inf. They spend some time at Camp Nelson, Arkansas in the fall of 1862 many died of disease there. I'll check to see if he was one. The 18th fought in the Trans-Mississippi Dept. They fought at Bayou Bourbeau, La. and the Red River Campaign (Jenkins' Ferry). They moved to Hempstead, Texas and disbanded in May of 1865.
