Apparently one of my ancestors in the Confederate army resigned in June 1862. No reasons given.
Could you give me some reasons for resigning after being in the infantry for less than a year?
Years later, family history said he had a limp. Could it have been medical or something else? I guess you were allowed to resign for the right reasons.
