Go to "Confederate Service Records" then "CSA" that is in parallel with the states then scroll down to "Capt. Marshall's Co., Confederate Artillery." That's why he said that "not a Tennessee unit." ..I have studied the "Brush Battalion" that directly above "Capt. Marshall's ..." in this CSA listing. .. Years ago, a veteran researcher told me that the "CSA" records are in a completely different part of the National Archives building than the other Confederate records.

Okay, so Ephriam actually served in a CSA (federal?) unit, not a Tennessee unit (he enlisted in Tennessee), which is why I couldn't initially find it. However, once I opened the Ancestry.com link you sent I noticed the correct unit and was able to find his service record which consists of two pages, which are represented in the two links below:

So, we essentially do not need to correct our records, they have been here the whole time. Hope this helps.
