Thanks Dennis........ Since making that post, I've read in " The Confederacy's Greatest Cavalryman " by Brian S. Wills, that one of Forrest's men was brutally tortured and killed in such a manner. That may be where the dis-information came from. I'm an unashamed conservative that had to a great extent appreciated Mr Beck's prior work on the founding fathers. It's quite obvious he falls way short in his knowledge of the " late unpleasantness. " and is quick to believe many of the myths out there being passed off as Civil War history. Thanks for your post.
