Thank you George for the response, as I just explained to Beulah, I have had to go out of town for a few day's and just returned, and I apologize for my late reply.
I have had a rough time of figuring him out because I don't have a middle initial, and Joseph Johnson was a very common name, and the census saying he was from Illinois, when you search, that adds several more men into the mix.
I have been leaning toward a Joseph Johnson living in Bradley Co in 1850, b. 1830 in Tn. Bradly is right next to Meigs and McMinn, it is possible he may be my G.G.G. Granddaddy. I sure would like to connect him to a family and a service, and possibly solve this mystery.
