Re: 5th TN Cavalry Regiment (McKenzies)

Hi Alan....good to hear. There are a couple of publications with the Rosters printed, if you want a somewhat complete one. VC Allen's "Rhea and Meigs Counties in the Confederate War" has a roster at the end. His brother was William Gibbs Allen who was adjutant of the 5th and his numerous writings were compiled in a volume entitled "Reminiciences of William G. Allen...compiled and edited by Carl Campbell and Betty Broyles, and it has the rosters printed too. Both of these rosters I don't believe to be complete but are snapshots of the units at a particular time....so your guys may have served long and hard in the Reg't and still not be included on there. There is an ending roster of the Unit when it was paroled in May 1865 at Bentonville, NC. Which Edgemonds are yours? If you want the books, which to me are well worth it, they are available at Mountain Press. http://www.mountainpress.com/books/tn/details/tn-1156w.html Hope this helps and feel free to contact me at cashfam5@comcast.net Sincerely, Chris Cash
