Private W. S. Norwood, Company G, 61st Regiment Tennessee Infantry

There is only one card in his file and that is that he was captured at the Big Black River on May 16, 1863 as Pemberton's army was being driven back into Vicksburg. Then sent to Memphis, Tenn. as a Prisoner of War, May 25, 1863. No further records.

M268: Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations from the State of Tennessee

It's unusual not to see previous company muster rolls, however, many Confederate records were lost. However, Federal POW records should have been recorded. Don't know why they are missing.
