I will contact the above in the red box and have already printed off the order form.
My reason for this is that my granddaughter applied and was accepted to Vanderbilt University Graduate school. They offer some sort of Civil War scholarship if you can 'prove' your relationship to your CW ancestor along with his service record. I am hoping Mary Ann's pension application will give some information. The CW committee says we have to 'prove' the ancestor was discharged honorably.
Question: If he was captured and a prisinor, can he be honorably discharged? And where would I get that information, please? They also say something about some military number is required??
Thank you so much for direction in this matter. I have all my 'proof' except his military service record and the pension applicantion and something to prove he was honorably discharged.
