Re: Camps used in the middle TN area

That particular Cav. Unit is the unit I am tracking. I am trying to verify information I hope to include in the regimental history of the 7th Miss. Inf.

A Lt. from a US Cav. regiment was captured as he attempted to cut the ropes to a Confederate pontoon bridge near Shoal Creek on the Tenn. River sometim between Nov 10-24, 1864. He was recognized as a deserter from Tucker's Miss. Brigade Sharpshooters and was court martialed and hung. We are attempting to identify him. Only one name that we know of was in both units, William T. Ford. (12th Tenn. Cav. US and Co. C 9th Battn. Miss. SS.)Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See the message String on the Miss. Board: 9th Battn. MS SS Deserter
