His G G Grand Son was the first General Officer killed in World War II.

I repeat. I heard a rumor that the Forest Family donated the Park to the City of Memphis.
That might be worth looking into and may be good information.
Do we know that there is a connection with Mayor Winchester and the Forest Family.
She be readily available in the Land Records.

I know the lawyers will say it is unimportant.
I understand this.

However, to most of us country folks, S C V members, descendants of Confederate Veterans
would say that "The property was given in trust and should be used only for that purpose."
I do not know what they are planning to do with the property but I would wager the almighty dollar is involved.
