Krick's "Lee's Colonels" and grave sites

In “Lee’s Colonels: A Biographical of the Field Officers of the Army of Northern Virginia” - 4th Edition – Revised, by Robert K. Krick are the following officers* who have no burial location in their bio sketch. For those who enjoy “graving” and visiting these gentlemen’s grave sites as I do, I hope the following will be some interest to you.

Major John Stewart Hard, 7th SC, was killed in action at Chickamauga, GA. He is buried in Graniteville, South Carolina in the Graniteville Cemetery. His marker is near the gazebo type stucture.

Major Philologus H. Loud, 10th GA. This officer is buried in Williston, South Carolina in the Williston Cemetery. His grave site is to the left after going under the granite arch.

Major Watson A. O’Cain, 1st SC. He is buried in the Prospect Southern Methodist Church Cemetery in Jamison, Orangeburg County, South Carolina. His marker is one of the more prominent markers in this small cemetery.

Colonel Comillus Wycliffe McCreary, 1st SC, does have a VA marker in the Williston Cemetery, Williston, South Carolina. “Wickliffe” is inscribed. His grave site is to the right (and little down a ways) after going under the granite arch.

Lt. Colonel John David Twiggs, 1st SC Cavalry, was “killed in a street fight while at home in Hamburg, South Carolina”. This officer is buried in Magnolia Cemetery in nearby Augusta, Georgia. He has a tall white obelisk not far from General Goode Bryan.
