H. L. Amick, age 26, Capt. J. H. Koon's Company, 15th Regiment South Carolina Volunteers,* joined for duty and enrolled August 25, 1861/enlisted September 9, 1861, at Dutch Fork, Lexington, Dist., S. C. by Capt. J. H. Koon for the war, recorded as 5th Sergeant at the end of the year muster, captured September 14, 1862 at South Mountain, sent for exchange from Fort Delaware, Del. prison to Aikens Landing, Va. October 2, declared exchanged November 10, 1862, recorded as 4th Sergeant on the Jan./Feb., 1863 muster roll, 2nd Sergeant on the May/June, 1863 muster roll where he was last recorded present, no further records

Note: Company I subsequently was engaged at Gettysburg July 2 & 3, 1863. His name does not appear on any of the subsequent muster rolls, signifying he was dropped from the rolls for some reason, death, discharge, capture, desertion, transfer, etc.

* This company subsequently became Company I, 15th Regiment South Carolina Infantry
