My gg-uncle Thomas Scates or Skates had the great fortune to live on the NC/SC border. I have found ev idence that he may have served in both states. His wife's pension application says he was pow from 1863 to the end of the war. How would I find out where he was captured and where he was kept all that time? Thanks for any help.
