My sons' direct ancestor, John B. Bagwell, Pvt. 14th SC Infantry, was taken prisoner on the 4th or 5th of July at Gettysburg (his records have both dates). Did the 14th do any fighting after the first day, or was John more likely taken prisoner after he was left behind by Lee's army when they retreated -- due to a wound, etc.
