Thanks Mr. Sturkey! Your response is much appreciated. I was aware that most of the college had been a hospital site, wish I had known that however when I visited Columbia a couple of years ago. Should have done my research ahead of time.

Do you know anything about the site of Ladies Hospital? I am aware that there was one established early on at the Fairgrounds by ladies from Columbia, which was turned over to the military. After short duration the military decided that this was not a suitable location and then moved to the college grounds as you mentioned. The second one was apparently on the east side of the city in an old warehouse somewhere near the Charlotte Railroad in a building known as the Schofield and Butler Car Factory. Does this building still exist?
