Was a physical description really necessary?

While a few woman were noted as carrying mail for the Confederacy these two were the only females to have been taken prisoners to the Camp Chase Prison.

Miss Fanny Battle also spelled as Battles were arrested on April 7, 1863 carrying rebel mail and also concealing other contraband. One only wonders what the other contraband was? She was taken to Lexington, Kentucky and then forwarded to Camp Chase where a physical description was made. Union authorities listed her as 20 years old; 5' 3" in height; blue eyes; dark hair; fair complexion; and noted she was a citizen of Davidson County, Tennessee.

Miss Harriett Booker was also taken prisoner along with Miss Fanny Battles on April 7, 1863 and charged with the same offence. Her physical description was age 24; 5' 7" in height; hazel eyes; dark hair; fair complexion, and was a citizen of Rutherford County, Tennessee. I'm wondering since these were the only two women taken to the Camp Chase Prison if a physical description was really necessary?

The women after a short stay at Camp Chase were later released to a holding facility in Columbus, Ohio about four miles east from Camp Chase.
