Future General William Preston, brother-in-law to ASJ escorted the body to New Orleans. I have reason to believe Col. William Preston Johnston ASJ's son was also part of that escort. Prior to the "funeral" in NO. the corpse of ASJ (as of April 7th 1862) was in Corinth Miss. I have a true copy of the inventory, dated April 17th, 1862, of ASJ's "stuff" and who got what.
