Good question. I'd have had the desire to do better but 20 years ago I sure didn't have the infomation I do now. I was one of those who just let the school do its teaching and I did try to teach my children that their ancestors were honorable and fought because they believed in something larger than themselves but I did not know the scope of it at that time. You can believe I've done a better job with my grandchildren on the teaching just because I have learned more. I also see how just letting the system do it's thing can be harmful. We can spend our time saying 'if only' or we can 'do something ' with just one or two people and hope at least one of them keeps the flame going.
