Re: Battle of Vincent's Crossroads

yea, I also can see the battle begining up around golden Ms and in the middle of red bay alabama, both could be feasable, I remember also reading about the river on retreat having steep banks to climb which also describes the river that would be several miles back from where they came ad not especiallyat north and south the yellow creek mentioned. Seems I ran across and old stage route running some what North and South out at either Belmont or Golden, bee a while since I tried to research it as my gggrandad was kia in that battle. Could not find anymore hints to follow so gave up. I had a wild idea that the airport was where it was partly due to very few artifacts found about this battle. Being routed I would have thought there would been all kinds metal objects dropped as they ran from both sides. Although only 400 Unionists and several rebels people would have bee losing stuff. Talked to a local detectorist/collector and he didn't have much that came from the area around there either, other than a mall cannon ball found just east of redbay. We may ever know, sure hope something is located to prove some of it sooner or later.
