Ken,
I have more information on the two Bristers if you are interested. I am aware that some records list Capt Brister as James Milton Brister; however, all records with the 7th Miss. refer to him as J. Milton Brister. Private John Brister is listed as John O. Brister. His death record also incorrectly lists him as John Buster.
