Thanks much. Its a lot easier if ya know what the heck ya doin'
One of the letters mentions a "John Brister". This man I have listed as
the Ensign of Co. B in May 1861.
I found some conflicting info on Brister; a casualty report that lists him as
wounded at New Hope Church and an after-action report that states he was
killed at Chickamauga.
Does anyone know which statement is correct?
Was there more than one "J. M. Brister"?
He was listed as a captain at Chickamauga.
