the 32nd being one of the smaller regts with no artillery, was marched from Triune, Tn where they had been dug in. They were detailed to guard the railroad between Normandie Station and New Fosterville, they were supposed to be releaved, but orders never made it, they therefore never was in the Battle at Stone's river, but did act as rear guard, for the retreat, hope this helps. I am currently writing a book about the 32nd that will be out sometime in late 2015. My Great Grandfather was in Company D his name was Jefferson Kasey Murley, one of the Settle Papers mentions him as being slightly wounded at Chicamauga. Hope this helps.
