I've got about 50 letters from Camp Milldale.

One states that the unit was encamped closer to the Yazoo, and were "ordered out about half of a mile to meet the yankees who had come up the Yazoo River..... as was thought they came up to Hyanes Bluff about one mile from where we first encamped at."
Then goes on to say " As soon as we got back to camp we were ordered to this place and got here just at day, a distance I guess of about six miles."

While I am no expert, I have collected info and letters and information on Milldale for over 20 years, so have a little info on it and Camp Bruce. Even some after the Union occupied Milldale and Bruce.
